The BIST way
What makes us so special?
Britus Education in Tunisia
Britus Education is led by a small team who provide guidance, challenge and support to the schools.
Each member is experienced in school management and is driven by their belief that every child is capable of performing highly with the right opportunities to learn, personalised support and instilling a motivation to succeed.
The only COBIS Accredited school in Tunisia
“The Council of British International Schools (COBIS) is a membership association that represents more than 450 schools and organisations, globally.”
Being a COBIS school implies that BIST operates within specific guidelines of ethical practice and good governance reflective of the high standards and ethos that only the very best British international schools have the knowledge and capacity to meet.
The high standards required are maintained by regular inspections and communication with COBIS.
Cambridge Assessment
We are a registered school of Cambridge Assessment International Education, part of the University of Cambridge.
Cambridge English exams are recognised by over 25,000 universities, employers and governments around the world. Cambridge English language tests can open doors to higher education, improve employment opportunities, and because they are globally recognised, can increase our pupils choices for study or work.
British School Overseas (BSO)
Internationals schools offering a UK curriculum, such as the English National Curriculum, can seek recognition of the quality of their provision through the Inspection of British Schools Overseas (IBSO) process. For ‘British schools overseas’, this inspection process provides a means to reassure parents that educational standards are comparable with independent school standards in the UK. The inspection process leads to the production of a report that will provide the school community with an official view of quality.
The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award
The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award is a global framework for non-formal education and learning, which challenges young people to dream big, celebrate their achievements and make a difference in their world. Through developing transferable skills, increasing their fitness levels, cultivating a sense of adventure and volunteering in their community, the Award helps young people to find their purpose, passion and place in the world.
Mealtimes are special in every culture, which is why it is important to offer a wide array of delicious food that everyone can look forward to and enjoy every day. Food is delivered to our schools using specialist containers to ensure it’s kept piping hot. Every ingredient in every meal is recorded and monitored so we know exactly how many calories children are consuming in addition to ensuring nutritional and vitamin content meets British Government’s stringent standards.
This means that not only are meals a delight to eat, they’re healthy, too.
Ensuring we are maintaining our standards
As a member of the Council of British International Schools, our standards are unapologetically high. Accreditation criteria covers a wide array of professional, teaching, values, and welfare standards that only the very best British international schools have the knowledge and capacity to meet. BIST fosters a culture of kindness, open minds, and big hearts. We create the safe, happy, learning environment that empowers young minds to focus, achieve, and create more.
The best thing about BIST is the pupils themselves. Warm, engaging, polite, confident, and creative – they take care of each other and work hard towards their aspirations.
