Follow a few easy steps to begin your journey at BIST.
Children aged 3 to 7 (Early Years & early Primary) attend one or more taster days at BIST. These are informal classroom visits where teachers observe social interaction, learning style, and communication in a natural setting — no testing involved.
Yes. Starting from age 7, students take the CAT4 cognitive abilities test. This gives insight into their learning potential and helps with class placement. Additional subject or language assessments may also be required depending on their background.
Children applying to Nursery, Reception, and Years 1–2 (ages 3–7) are not formally tested. Instead, they join regular classes for a day or two, allowing teachers to assess their development through play, interaction, and guided activities.

Being a BSO and COBIS accredited school guarantees that BIST operates within specific guidelines of ethical practice and good governance reflective of the high standards and ethos that only the very best British international schools have the knowledge and capacity to meet.
